"It's the job that's never started as takes longest to finish" - J.R.R. Tolkien
Salut! I'm an empathic Information Professional with 13 years experience in cataloging, circulating and researching physical & digital assets in film and television archives. I'm leveraging the hard & soft skills from my previous professional role towards a career transition into User Experience Research.
During my lengthy tenure as a Media Librarian in the Entertainment industry, I found time to devote to higher education and leveling up my skills: I received my Master's Degree in Library & Information Science (MLIS) while simultaneously working full-time, and established a working knowledge of the foundations of Web Design and User Experience through various in-person & remote training programs. I'm currently a UX Design Fellow at General Assembly. In this contract role, I am honing the skills necessary to land my big full-time break in the ever-expanding field of User Experience.
Fun Fact: During my previous life as a Librarian, I was a guest panelist at my alma mater twice. I spoke to first-year students about how I got into the field, why I chose the program I was accepted into, what types of jobs are available post-graduation & any challenges and opportunities I faced in my field. In my next life as a UX Researcher, I want to answer those same questions from anyone who is interested in User Experience. To learn more about me, view my resume or find me on Medium!
