"It's the job that's never started as takes longest to finish" - J.R.R. Tolkien
Salut! I'm an Information Professional with 13 years of experience in cataloging, circulating and researching physical & digital assets in film and television archives. I'm leveraging the skills from my previous professional role towards a career transition into User Experience Research. My keen attention to details, empathy towards others and interest in psychology, as well as effective problem solving skills, make me a great fit for a UX Research role.
During my lengthy tenure with Viacom’s Library & Archive Services department, I found time to devote to higher education: I received my MLIS from Pratt Institute in 2013, and successfully completed General Assembly's remote 10-week Web Design Circuit in 2017. I've also taken UX & Web Design offerings through Skillcrush, Girl Develop It, Bitesize UX, Codecademy, and Designation.
Fun Fact: During my previous life as a Librarian, I was a guest panelist at my alma mater twice. I spoke to first-year students about how I got into the field, why I chose the program I was accepted into, what types of jobs are available post-graduation & any challenges and opportunities I faced throughout my career. In my next life as a UX Researcher, I want to answer those same questions from anyone who is interested in User Experience. More recently, I published a piece about UX portfolio resources for beginners on Medium.
